Linz, Austria – European Capital of Culture 2009 – on the beautiful blue Danube, has been chosen by the PLM User Committee to become the 2010 conference location. Once more, between October 18th and Oct 20th you will have the opportunity to attend an informative and enjoyable conference. Many thanks to all attendees and sponsors of the 2008/9 conference who gave us their feedback and opinion while we were about to choose the appropriate place for next year’s venue. Taking into consideration the challenging economic situation which can of course not be denied, we nevertheless share an optimistic view into the future. Professional as usual, affordable and accessible – the place for the 2010 conference not only meets many interests but goes in line with our intent to move the venue location every two years. In Linz, knowledge and understanding of PLM and associated toolsets and applications can be made accessible for a large number of attendees.

Your support has made and makes all of this possible, so let me just say: Thank you for making this event so special and unique! Don’t miss Linz 2010! We look forward to seeing  you there! Further details and information will be provided in the month to come.

Keynote Hewlett-Packard - Can Product Development and Engineering benefit from the Cloud?

Christian Verstraete, Chief Technologist Manufacturing & Distribution Industries

As companies look to bring products faster to market, while increasingly outsourcing both design and manufacturing activities, they are confronted with an ever more complete environment. Sharing consistent information and making sure that changes are disseminated throughout the ecosystem quickly helps advanced companies address those challenges. This requires not only the implementation of a product lifecycle management system, but also sharing that one with the parties involved. Cloud computing, and in particular the use of a community cloud can be a way to address this. This session will describe what cloud computing is about and how it can help companies achieve the above objectives.

Keynote Microsoft - Taking PLM to New Levels

A number of revolutionary technologies have emerged recently that show immense potential for improving user experience, collaboration, and performance. Learn how these can be leveraged by product lifecycle management applications and processes to drive innovation, increase business productivity and improve the bottom line.

A Contribution to the Understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

Prof. Dr. Sandor Vajna, Chair of Information Technologies in Mechanical Engineering, Magdeburg University

Today companies have to find a reasonable and accountable answer to the challenge of "Mass Customisation".

Mass customization describes the increasing individualization of products and services. An individual product shall be offered for appropriate costs and with sufficient variability and adaptability to each customer, who can use this product exactly in the way he wants. There is a realistic chance to solve this quadrate of the circle by Product Lifecycle Management, a new acronym that is circulating in Europe.

Keynote RedBull Racing - Steve Nevey

"When Red Bull entered Formula One as an outright owner in 2005, it was after observing the way things had been done from past to present.  The sport, with a tradition for loving life and living it to the max, had become staid and corporate.  The energy drink company set out to recapture some of those original values.  A professional approach to all things related to the car and racing ensures that innovation is afforded the freedom required for our most creative minds to take us the top step of the podium.  At the same time, the now legendary marketing machine that is Red Bull was able to rekindle an authentic flavor of Formula One from bygone ages.

We can announce Bloodhound as Keynote Presenter....
